At Tokyo Game Show 2025, TiMi Studio Group and Capcom unveiled a new gameplay trailer for Monster Hunter Outlanders, the upcoming mobile instalment in the Monster Hunter franchise.

Alongside the reveal, a closed beta test was announced, beginning in November in select regions, with sign-ups now open on the official website.

Monster Hunter Outlanders introduces players to Aesoland, a new open-world island featuring diverse terrain and ecosystems.

The game allows up to four-player hunts, continuing the series’ hallmark cooperative gameplay while adding new mechanics tailored for mobile devices. Combat will feature the franchise’s familiar weapon classes, enhanced by new elements designed for Outlanders.

The trailer also introduced the “Adventurer,” the game’s main protagonist, and offered a look at exploration, crafting, and monster encounters. A major new feature is the “Radiant Species,” monsters altered by the island’s mineral Radiantite, which boosts their aggression and abilities.

Players will be joined by companions known as “Adventurers,” each with unique skills and backgrounds, as well as buddies that assist in hunts. Alongside the familiar Palico, new companions Rutaco and Trillan will debut, each with their own special traits and upgrade paths.

During a pre-show media event, the development team confirmed the soundtrack will feature original compositions, while controller support remains under consideration following community feedback.

TiMi Studio Group producer Dong Huang said: “With the first Closed Beta coming in November, we are currently working hard so that players can experience the game’s many appealing features.” Capcom producer Genki Sunano added: “We’re thrilled for fans to jump in and experience the franchise in a new and exciting way.”

Monster Hunter Outlanders will launch on iOS and Android, with further updates expected after the beta test concludes.
