Flight Simulator 2024 expected to land on PlayStation 5

Trailer also revealed that PlayStation VR2 support is in development, though this feature won’t be available at launch

Another major Xbox title is making its way to PlayStation 5—Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. The game was officially announced during today’s PlayStation State of Play event, with a launch date set for December 8, 2025.

The trailer also revealed that PlayStation VR2 support is in development, though this feature won’t be available at launch. Instead, it will arrive as a free update sometime in 2026.

To enhance the PlayStation experience, Microsoft Flight Simulator’s lead, Jorg Neumann, shared in a PlayStation blog post how the game leverages the DualSense wireless controller. Adaptive triggers will respond to different ground speeds and surface types, while providing sloped resistance during flight. Air traffic control communications will play through the controller’s speaker, simulating the feel of a real cockpit. Additional immersion features include gyro controls, lightbar support, and a customizable touchpad.

Developed by Asobo Studio in partnership with Microsoft Game Studios, the PlayStation 5 version will receive all the same free World Updates and Sim Updates as the PC and Xbox versions, ensuring players stay up to date.
