Woman beaten, left bleeding in market, over a dispute involving gold jewellery worth Rs1.7 million

A woman was beaten and left bleeding in a market in Baghbanpura reportedly over a dispute involving gold jewellery worth Rs1.7 million.

According to the FIR, the woman was surrounded by the suspects in the Baghbanpura market. The accused, who had been threatening her over the financial dispute, attacked her with a rod, hitting her in the face.

They also punched and beat her with sticks. Eyewitnesses said the victim screamed for help and she fell to the ground, bleeding.

The police registered a case against the suspects under Sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code.
