The Faizabad Traffic Police Office has been linked with 11 Police Khidmat Marakiz (facilitation centres) across the district to curb possible corruption and provide convenience to citizens. The working hours of these centres have also been extended by three hours, from 9am to 9pm.
Starting October 1, drivers without valid licenses will face strict action: heavy fines, registration of a criminal case in the concerned police station, impoundment of the vehicle, and arrest of the driver.
The decision was taken during a high-level meeting chaired by the Inspector General of Islamabad Police, late last night, attended by senior police officers including the DIG Islamabad. The IGP directed officials to speed up the process of issuing driving licenses and ensure maximum facilities for the public.
As part of these measures, the Faizabad Traffic Police Office will now remain open 24 hours alongside the F-6 Khidmat Markaz. Additional counters are also being set up to handle the increased public demand.
The IGP further announced that in the future, traffic policerelated services will also be provided through all police stations of the federal capital. Moreover, driving license facilities have now been made available at all 11 Khidmat Marakiz to make the process easier and more accessible for citizens.
The public has been urged to obtain their driving licenses before October 1, as driving without one after the deadline will lead to FIR registration, arrest, and vehicle impoundment. Traffic police are running awareness campaigns on multiple platforms to inform citizens of these new measures.
The IGP emphasised that maintaining law and order, combating crime, and providing every possible facility to citizens remain the top priorities of Islamabad Police.
