Jesse Williams leads Prime Video’s Hotel Costiera set on the Amalfi Coast
Prime Video is expanding its international originals with Hotel Costiera, a six-episode action drama starring Jesse Williams.
The series, set against the backdrop of Italy’s Amalfi Coast, premieres September 24 and blends mystery, crime, and family intrigue.
Williams plays Daniel De Luca, a retired Marine turned fixer for the luxury Hotel Costiera. Tasked with catering to wealthy guests, Daniel’s skills are tested when the hotelier’s youngest daughter, Alice (Amanda Campana), disappears after a family dispute. What begins as routine guest management soon spirals into high-stakes investigations involving missing persons, severed hands, and buried family secrets.
Alongside Daniel, a team of allies brings additional resources: Bigné (Antonio Gerardi), a cafe owner with vast connections; Tancredi (Sam Haygarth), an English aristocrat; and Genny (Jordan Alexandra), who handles the group’s most dangerous work. Together, they take on a mystery each episode, culminating in Alice’s disappearance and a conspiracy that threatens the family’s legacy.
Created by Elena Bucaccio, Matthew Parkhill, and Francesco Arlanch, Hotel Costiera mixes procedural storytelling with glimpses into Daniel’s military past and fractured personal life. While critics note that the show follows familiar patterns, standout episodes like “Hassan” introduce more compelling emotional stakes.
Produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Lux Vide, Hotel Costiera aims to draw viewers with its scenic setting, fast-paced drama, and Williams’ charisma, even if it doesn’t reinvent the genre.
All six episodes debut September 24 exclusively on Prime Video.
