TikTok creator Zuza Beine dies at 14 after leukaemia battle, remembered for candid life chronicles

Zuza Beine, who shared her cancer journey with 1.8 million followers, has died at 14 after leukaemia battle.

Zuza Beine, a TikTok and Instagram creator from Wisconsin who documented her battle with acute myeloid leukaemia, has died at the age of 14. Her family confirmed her passing on Tuesday in a statement shared to her Instagram account zuzas_way_to_healing, where she had 1.8 million followers.

“It is with broken hearts that we share that Zuza died yesterday morning,” her family said. “She lived 11 of her 14 years with a relentless cancer, yet lived more fully and gratefully than most. Her being changed us forever, and her dying will too.”

Zuza was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia at age three and spent much of her life undergoing treatment. Unlike many online influencers, her videos were marked by candour and unfiltered honesty.

She became known for her “Get Ready With Me” videos, in which she would apply lip gloss or share moments from her daily routine while discussing her health challenges.

Her content was not limited to documenting her illness but also conveyed resilience and gratitude. In her final posts, Zuza shared the intensity of her pain.

“I’m constantly on pain medicine because my body hurts so, so, so bad,” she said in one video, followed by another where she wrote, “I can barely walk right now I’m in so much pain.”

Her last video, posted a day before her death, reflected on gratitude for “the tiny things.” Her family noted that this captured her outlook, describing it as “a testament to a life filled with both beauty and suffering.”

Beyond her illness, Zuza’s openness fostered a digital community, with many followers crediting her videos for offering perspective and strength.

Her legacy, as her family described, lies in her ability to face adversity while continuing to live fully and gratefully.
