The University of Karachi (UoK) has launched its annual Students' Week, with the opening day seeing enthusiastic participation from students who showcased their talents across various events.
Different departments organised programmes featuring debates, poetry recitation competitions, and other co-curricular activities, drawing students' active involvement. Faculty members also participated in the activities, with many attending events outside their own departments to encourage student participation.
Among notable activities was Jashn-e-Urdu, which became a centre of attraction. A poetry recitation contest also drew students from all departments, and saw participants recite verses of renowned poets, displaying memory, literary taste, and earning applause from the audience.
The university administration stated that the Students' Week aims to provide opportunities for students to engage in co-curricular activities alongside academics, enabling them to explore and enhance their creative and intellectual abilities.
A variety of programmes are scheduled to take place throughout the week and are expected to further boost student interest and interaction.
