Errol Musk, the father of tech billionaire Elon Musk, has been accused of sexually abusing five of his children and stepchildren over a 30-year period, according to an investigation by The New York Times published on September 23. The report cites interviews with family members, court records, personal correspondence, and social workers to support the claims, though no criminal convictions have been made.

The earliest reported allegation dates back to 1993, when a 4-year-old stepdaughter allegedly told family members that Errol had touched her inappropriately. A decade later, the same stepdaughter claimed she caught him sniffing her underwear. As recently as 2023, a family member and a social worker reportedly tried to intervene after a 5-year-old boy said his father groped him.

The Times states that Errol Musk, now 79, has been the subject of three separate police investigations related to the allegations. Two of those were closed without legal action, while the outcome of the third remains unclear. Despite the serious nature of the accusations, Errol Musk has denied any wrongdoing, telling The New York Times that the claims are “false” and “nonsense in the extreme.” He also alleged that some family members were coaching the children to make false statements in an attempt to extort Elon Musk.

Several relatives have reportedly reached out to Elon Musk over the years, asking for his assistance and intervention. One 2010 letter cited by the Times pleaded, “We really need your advice, help and guidance in these matters because we daily see these children suffer.” Elon, who is estranged from his father, has not commented publicly on the allegations but has previously spoken about their strained relationship, describing Errol as having done “almost every evil thing you could possibly think of,” in a 2017 Rolling Stone interview.

Errol Musk, who has at least nine children and stepchildren and has been married three times, maintains that he is only aware of one abuse claim and continues to deny all others.
