Political streamer Steven Bonnell II, widely known as Destiny, has once again drawn attention online after his comments about being banned from Twitch resurfaced.The controversy gained traction following a viral X post in which Destiny claimed that “conservatives just got him banned” from the Amazon-owned platform.
Destiny was permanently suspended from Twitch on March 25, 2022, for “hateful conduct.” In an October 2024 X post, he revealed that remarks he made about the transgender community had led to the platform’s decision. “Unreal, @elonmusk and other conservatives just got me banned from Twitch. My entire income is gone now. So much for the party of free speech,” Destiny wrote at the time.
On September 16, 2025, he shared a screenshot of an email from Twitch, reiterating that his livelihood had been cut off. The post quickly went viral, amassing more than 4.9 million views and sparking thousands of reactions from supporters and critics alike.
Adding to the discussion, a 22-second clip from one of Destiny’s recent livestreams was circulated on X. In the footage, Destiny claimed that a senior ABC News reporter contacted him regarding the Twitch ban, only to realize the suspension had occurred years earlier. Destiny suggested that the renewed attention was partly fueled by political opponents.
Elon Musk himself responded to Destiny, accusing the streamer of “incitement to murder and domestic terrorism” and stating that Destiny “should go to prison.”
The renewed spotlight underscores the continuing debates around free expression, platform enforcement, and the influence of political discourse on online creators. For Destiny, the ban remains a defining moment in his streaming career, one he claims erased his main source of income.
