Actor Evan Peters has reflected on his time as Quicksilver in the X-Men franchise and shared that he remains open to reprising the role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Speaking with ComicBook’s Chris Killian while promoting his upcoming film Tron: Ares, Peters addressed fan speculation about whether he might return as the speedster.

Peters first portrayed Pietro Maximoff, also known as Quicksilver, in 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past and reprised the role in X-Men: Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix. He also appeared in a multiverse cameo in Marvel’s Disney+ series WandaVision, which reignited hopes of a full MCU return.

When asked if the frequent questions about a possible comeback ever become overwhelming, Peters responded that he doesn’t mind the curiosity. He explained that he has thought about what more could be explored with the character, particularly Quicksilver’s personal life and his dynamic with Magneto. “I had such a blast playing that character,” Peters said, adding that further exploring Quicksilver’s backstory and family ties “would be pretty cool.” He concluded with, “Knock on wood,” leaving the possibility open-ended.

Although there are no confirmed plans for Peters to rejoin the MCU, the franchise’s growing multiverse continues to create opportunities for the return of characters from previous Marvel films. Upcoming projects, including Avengers: Doomsday (2026) and Avengers: Secret War (2027), are expected to feature several actors from the Fox X-Men era, such as Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James Marsden, and Rebecca Romijn.

For now, Peters is focused on Tron: Ares, in which he stars as Julian Dillinger. The film is scheduled to arrive in theaters on October 25, 2025.
