Authorities are investigating the disappearance and death of teenage girl Celeste Rivas, whose case has sent shockwaves through Los Angeles.
The 13-year-old vanished in May 2024, and her partially dismembered remains were discovered in September in the front trunk of a Tesla registered to D4vd, prompting a continuing investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death. Law enforcement officials say they are actively following leads, but no charges have been filed.
D4vd, real name David Anthony Burke, and his manager Josh Marshall recently ended their $20,000-a-month Hollywood Hills lease just days after police raided the property.
The four-bedroom home had been leased by Marshall, and authorities reportedly seized multiple items for analysis.
Homeowner Mladen Trifunovic told the Daily Mail that Marshall requested to break the lease and began moving out Burke’s and his own belongings.
Trifunovic added that he had no prior knowledge of Burke living in the property until he was informed about the raid.
Sources allege that Rivas had an underage relationship with Burke, though the family’s knowledge of this remains unconfirmed.
Social media images purporting to show Burke with Rivas have circulated online, and investigators are working to verify their authenticity. Burke was performing on the US leg of his Withered World Tour when the teen’s remains were discovered.
Burke has retained attorney Blair Berk and has not made a public statement regarding the case. Meanwhile, the remainder of his world tour has been quietly canceled, and Interscope Records has postponed the release of his deluxe album.
A vigil was held outside Rivas’ family home on what would have been her 15th birthday, honoring the teen as a “bright and bubbly” young girl.
Authorities continue to analyze the items seized from the Hollywood Hills property as the investigation progresses, with many questions remaining about the tragic events leading to Rivas’ death.
