LAHORE:

A magisterial court in Lahore on Wednesday dismissed the post-arrest bail petition of YouTuber Saadur Rehman, popularly known as Ducky Bhai, in a case related to the alleged promotion of online gambling applications.

Judicial Magistrate Naeem Wattoo heard arguments from both the prosecution and the defence.

Counsel for the petitioner argued that Rehman had been falsely implicated and had no connection to the charges.

The prosecution countered that sufficient evidence linked the accused to the offence, requesting that the bail application be rejected.

After hearing both sides, the court dismissed the plea.

Rehman was arrested at Lahore airport following an FIR lodged by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) on August 17.

The case was registered under sections 13 (Electronic Forgery), 14 (Electronic Fraud), 25 (Spamming), and 26 (Spoofing) of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016, in addition to sections 294-B (Offering prize in connection with trade) and 420 (Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

According to the FIR, Rehman promoted several gambling and betting applications—including Binomo, 1xBet, Bet365 and B9 Game—through his YouTube channel.

The complaint alleged that members of the public invested money through these apps, suffered financial losses, and were defrauded when profits were withheld despite millions of rupees being collected.
