RAWALPINDI:

The Education Department has assigned new duties to recently appointed assistant education officers (AEOs), making them responsible for monitoring 11 primary schools each.

According to a circular and SOP, every AEO must visit each school four times - focusing on mentoring, assessment, and monitoring. Mentoring and assessment visits will require spending an entire day at the school.

If student performance in the Literacy and Numeracy Drive (LND) falls below targets, responsibility will be shared by the AEO, head teacher, and class teacher. AEOs will also check homework and sign notebooks during mentoring visits.
