Production on 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' has been suspended after star Tom Holland was rushed to hospital following a serious on-set accident.

The 29-year-old British actor reportedly cracked his head during a fall while filming a stunt sequence at Leavesden Studios in Watford. He was treated for concussion and is expected to remain under medical observation.

A stunt double was also injured in the incident and taken to hospital by ambulance. Filming of the £150 million Marvel blockbuster was immediately paused, with insiders warning that the delay could last for weeks.

The film, Holland's fourth outing as Peter Parker, had already faced scheduling adjustments earlier this year and was set for release on 31 July 2026. Industry analysts suggest the latest disruption may force another shift.

Holland's father, comedian Dominic Holland, confirmed his son's condition at a charity dinner in Mayfair, telling attendees the actor would be away from filming "for a while." Just days earlier, Holland had attended the same event alongside fiancee and co-star Zendaya, 28, posing for photographs in apparent good health.

The East of England Ambulance Service later confirmed it had responded to an emergency call at the studio on Friday morning. "An ambulance was sent to the scene, and the patient was transported to hospital for further care," a spokesperson said.

'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' will see Holland reprise his role opposite Zendaya's MJ, with Jacob Batalon, Mark Ruffalo, Jon Bernthal and Michael Mando also returning.

Newcomers include Sadie Sink, Liza Colon-Zayas and Tramell Tillman. The film is part of Marvel's Phase Six slate, which builds toward the highly anticipated 'Avengers: Doomsday'.

The accident comes during an especially busy period for Holland, who is also set to appear with Zendaya in Christopher Nolan's upcoming adaptation of 'The Odyssey'. His demanding schedule has raised questions about the risks involved in high-intensity stunt work, despite Marvel's reputation for safety measures and reliance on doubles.

While fans have expressed concern, social media has also been filled with messages of support wishing the actor a swift recovery. For now, Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios have declined to comment on the extent of the delay, leaving both the industry and audiences waiting anxiously for updates.
