Are Daft Punk and The Weeknd set to headline Fortnite?

Epic Games has officially teased that Daft Punk will headline an upcoming live event in Fortnite, scheduled to take place on September 27, 2025, at 2 PM ET. The event will be part of the ongoing Chapter 6 Season 4 and is expected to precede the popular Halloween-themed Fortnitemares update.
According to prominent Fortnite leakers like HYPEX and ShiinaBR, two separate in-game playlists will be available for the event.

The second playlist is reportedly an interactive fan contest, allowing players to create their own versions of Daft Punk’s iconic “Around The World” music video.
Teasers throughout the season have built anticipation for the event, notably featuring a mysterious pink and purple monolith on the island. Fans initially speculated it was modeled after the Washington Monument, but it has now been linked to Daft Punk’s aesthetic, particularly referencing its appearance in their “I Feel It Coming” video. The Weeknd further fueled speculation by posting a teaser on Instagram, featuring his Fortnite skin and Riftreaver Drift approaching the monolith, revealing a glowing light beneath it.
A cryptic teaser titled “The stage of an unforgettable era” was also posted by Fortnite’s Instagram account on September 22. Viewable only after entering the password “pyramid,” the reel features a voiceover from The Weeknd, describing the monolith as a portal to “another time and place.”
While Epic Games has not officially announced Daft Punk-themed skins or cosmetics, leaks suggest players can expect event-specific abilities such as a dash move and a special “Super” ability.
As Fortnite continues to expand its music-driven content, this collaboration with Daft Punk and The Weeknd could mark one of its most ambitious in-game events to date.
