RAWALAKOT:

Leaders of various political parties in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) on Sunday paid tribute to the government of Pakistan and the army for giving India a befitting response to its aggression in May this year, as well as for striking a strategic defense deal with Saudi Arabia.

They said Pakistan's political and military leadership had secured victory both on the battlefield and on the diplomatic front, raising the country's flag high on the global stage.

Addressing a public gathering organized to celebrate the success of Ma’araka-e-Haq and Operation Bunyan Marsus, AJK PML-N President Shah Ghulam Qadir said the people of AJK congratulated the government and people of Pakistan on these achievements.

"We were with Pakistan yesterday; we are with Pakistan today; and we will always remain with Pakistan. Our hearts and minds hold nothing but love for Pakistan. No one can take away our love for Pakistan," he said. Leaders of all major political parties were present at the gathering.

Qadir said he felicitated the Pakistan Armed Forces, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, and the entire team.

"This very political and military leadership led us to victory on the battlefield and also signed a defense agreement with Saudi Arabia. For that too, we extend congratulations to the government and people of Pakistan," he added.

All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference President Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan said the people of AJK salute the brave people of Poonch. "Jammu and Kashmir holds a distinguished position in the history of Pakistan. Heroes and martyrs like Sardar Sabz Ali Khan, Mali Khan, and Captain Hussain Khan Shaheed sacrificed their lives here," he noted.

Former AJK prime ministers Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan and Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan also thanked the people of Poonch.

PPP's Chaudhry Muhammad Yaseen, Jammu & Kashmir Peoples Party President Sardar Hassan Ibrahim, Raja Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, Minister for Local Government Chaudhry Qasim Majeed, Minister for Rehabilitation Javed Iqbal Budhanvi, and Nabeel Ayub also hailed the Pakistan Army.

They said Pakistan is the ultimate destination for the people of AJK and occupied Kashmir.
