Pop star Harry Styles achieved a significant personal milestone at the Berlin Marathon, completing the race in 2:59:13, just under the coveted three-hour mark. This marks a major improvement from his previous marathon performance earlier this year in Tokyo, where he finished in 3:24:07. The Berlin race, held on September 21, saw Styles running an average pace of 6:50 per mile, an impressive feat considering the challenging conditions.
Despite the warm weather, which saw temperatures reach the mid-70s and high humidity, Styles demonstrated impressive consistency throughout the race. His split times were nearly identical: he completed the first half in 1:29:08 and finished the second half in 1:30:06. This was a marked improvement over his Tokyo Marathon performance, where his first half took 1:42:03, followed by a near-identical 1:42:04 in the second half.
Styles ran under the alias “Sted Sarandos” and wore a pair of Nike Alphafly 3 shoes in a bright crimson colorway, paired with Tracksmith Van Cortlandt shorts and a black long-sleeve shirt. During the race, he was seen alongside Paralympic gold medalist Richard Whitehead, who shared a photo with the musician.
In addition to his marathon achievements, Styles is a Grammy Award-winning artist, known for his hit songs such as “Watermelon Sugar” and his 2022 album Harry's House. He has also ventured into acting, with roles in films like Dunkirk and Don’t Worry Darling. Styles’ sub-three-hour marathon performance places him in an elite group of celebrity marathon runners, further demonstrating his versatility and dedication to personal growth.
