Sabrina Carpenter has been announced as both host and musical guest for the October 18 episode of Saturday Night Live, marking the pop star’s first time taking on double duty.

The announcement follows a strong start to season 51 of the NBC sketch comedy show, with Bad Bunny hosting the premiere alongside musical guest Doja Cat, and Amy Poehler set to host the following week with Role Model performing.

Carpenter responded to the news with a humorous four-word warning on Instagram, writing: “They’re gonna regret this.”

Known for her sharp wit, fans interpreted the remark as a playful nod to the challenge of balancing both hosting and performing on the same night.

The songwriter has risen to global prominence over the past two years. Her 2023 album Short n’ Sweet, which featured two chart-topping singles, went platinum shortly after release.

She followed it with another record, Man’s Best Friend, which has also seen major success. Carpenter recently completed a sold-out world tour and has been announced as a headliner for Coachella in 2026.

Her appearance on SNL coincides with this career momentum. Double-duty slots are typically reserved for performers at the peak of their popularity, with past examples including Harry Styles, Taylor Swift, and Billie Eilish.

Carpenter previously appeared during SNL’s 50th anniversary special earlier this year, where she was praised for her stage presence. Her upcoming episode will feature sketches alongside her performances from Man’s Best Friend.

Fans can watch Sabrina Carpenter host and perform on Saturday Night Live on October 18, 2025, at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock.
