Pak-Saudi defence pact hailed

AJK finance minister and PML-N leader term moment as one of immense pride and pleasure for entire Pakistani nation

MUZAFFARABAD:

Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Finance Minister Abdul Majid Khan and PML-N AJK chapter President Shah Ghulam Qadir have extended congratulations to the people of Pakistan and Field Marshal Gen Asim Munir on the successful signing of a historic defence agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

Highlighting the significance of the pact, Khan stated that one of its key components was the honour accorded to the Pakistan Army, under the leadership of Gen Asim Munir, to provide defence and security services for the holy cities of Mecca and Medina.

"It is a moment of immense pride and pleasure for the entire Pakistani nation that our armed forces have been entrusted with the sacred responsibility of safeguarding the two holiest cities of Muslims. This is a divine blessing and a testament to the trust and respect Pakistan commands in the Muslim world," Khan said. "God has chosen our armed forces for this noble task and for that we are truly grateful."

He further emphasized that the Pakistan-Saudi defence pact is a timely and strategic achievement, deserving commendation for the leadership and citizens of both nations. The agreement, he said, would significantly bolster the defence capabilities of the two countries and enable them to confront external threats more effectively.

"The agreement is a proactive step in the face of emerging regional threats and underscores Pakistan's military strength to the world," Khan added.

"Protecting the Holy Mosques and the sacred territory of Saudi Arabia is a profound honour for Pakistan. The role of Field Marshal Gen Asim Munir in finalizing this agreement is a powerful message to the common adversaries of both Pakistan and Saudi Arabia."

Separately, Qadir said the Pakistan-Saudi Arabia defence agreement was the need of the hour, and that the leadership and people of both countries deserve congratulations for signing this landmark deal.

He said the defence agreement is a successful preemptive measure against numerous threats, and that the deal has once again showcased Pakistan's defence capabilities to the world.

"Defending the Holy Mosques and the sacred land of Saudi Arabia is a matter of great honour for the people of Pakistan. The presence of Field Marshal General Asim Munir during the bilateral agreement is akin to grinding thorns into the chest of the common enemies of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan," the PML-N AJK chapter president said.
