Frontier Corps (FC) seized a huge quantity of explosive materials and arrested an accused during a search operation near the Chagai district on Tuesday.

According to the FC spokesperson, the security personnel intercepted a vehicle near the Afghan border and recovered 1702 kilograms of ammonium chloride from the pickup during the search. The driver of the vehicle, Ibrain Sherzai, was consequently arrested.

“He wanted to smuggle the explosives to Afghanistan from a refugee camp known as Girdi Jangle near Dalbandin. We had an intelligence report that a vehicle without a registration number left from camp and was going to the Afghan border,” revealed the spokesperson, adding that the driver was being interrogated.
