Capital hosts Seerat Festival

Promotes literature on Prophet's (PBUH) life and habits; showcases students' Islamic art

The 2nd International Seerat Festival 2025, featuring a book fair and calligraphy exhibition, was held at FG Home Economics and Management Sciences College, F-11/1, in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Education and Professional Training.

The three-day celebration, organised from September 16 to 18, was inaugurated jointly by the Rehmatul-lil-Alameen & Khatamun Nabiyeen Authority (NRKNA) and the Institute of Home Economics, Art & Design. The theme of this year's festival was "Rahmat for the Earth".

At the Book Fair, 18 stalls showcased publications on Seeratun Nabi (PBUH), which refers to the life and character of the Prophet (PBUH), by various publishers and institutions across Pakistan, offering special discounts to encourage readership.

The Calligraphy Exhibition highlighted Islamic art and culture with Asmaul Nabi (names of the Prophet (PBUH) calligraphies created by students from Islamabad's educational institutions. The top ten participants received certificates and prizes for their outstanding work.

The second half of the festival featured a book launch, presenting research papers authored by scholars from Pakistan and abroad, further enriching the intellectual discourse around Seerat studies. Speaking at the event, Principal Rozina Faheem underscored the importance of the Seerah in daily life, stressing its role in fostering moral integrity and ethical values.

She also praised NRKNA's efforts in character education and in promoting the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) during the blessed month of Rabiul Awwal. Distinguished guests included NRKNA Chairman Dr Khursheed Ahmed Nadeem, National Book Foundation (NBF) Managing Director Kamran Jahangir and PIERA Chairperson Dr Zia Batoo.

Among the student calligraphers who showcased their exclusive works were Ilsa Shafiq, Muqaddas Ajmal, Zulfina Ahmad, Ghamamah Tariq and Farwa Mumtaz. The festival not only celebrated the Seerah of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) but also provided a platform to promote Islamic scholarship, culture and creativity among students.
