Local vaccine production urged

The Research and Development (R&D) Advisory Committee of the University of Health Sciences (UHS) has recommended local production of vaccines, biosimilars and bioequivalence drugs in collaboration with government bodies.

Presenting a briefing in a meeting on Wednesday, UHS Research and Development Director Professor Sidrah Saleem said more than 2,000 research projects had been completed at the institution in past three years.

UHS Vice Chancellor Dr Ahsan Waheed Rathore said the university was about to launch a training programme for medical editors in collaboration with the Islamic Science Citation Centre of Iran.
