Three killed in 'encounters'

Three suspects were killed while at least five others managed to escape in two alleged encounters with the Crime Control Department (CCD) in Lahore.
According to the police, encounter took place in Kahna, where CCD personnel signalled suspicious men to stop. The suspects allegedly opened fire, prompting retaliatory fire from the police.
Two unidentified suspects were killed on the spot, while their accomplices fled the scene.
Regarding a raid near Gawalmandi, the police said the suspects resorted to indiscriminate firing.
One suspect, identified as Ali Raza, was critically injured in the shootout and later died in hospital. His associates managed to escape.
The bodies were shifted to the city morgue for post-mortem examinations, while raids are under way to arrest the fleeing suspects.
However, sources claimed that the deceased men had already been in CCD custody for several days.
