K-P Assembly forms security committee

The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly has officially constituted a Security Committee tasked with reviewing and monitoring the province's law and order situation. An official notification issued by the Assembly Secretariat on Wednesday confirmed that Speaker Babar Saleem Swati will serve as chairman of the committee.
The move comes amid growing concerns over security challenges across the province. According to the notification, the decision to establish the committee was approved during the Assembly's 8th session. The body has been formed under Rule 194 of the Provincial Assembly Rules. The committee's procedures and code of conduct will be finalized in its first meeting, while a minimum of three members will be required for quorum.
The committee comprises representatives from both the government and opposition benches. Prominent members include Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, Opposition Leader Dr Ibadullah, Law Minister Aftab Alam, Higher Education Minister Meena Khan, Public Health Engineering Minister Pakhtun Yar Khan, State and Revenue Minister Nazir Abbasi, and Agriculture Minister Sajjad Muhammad.
Advisers Amjad Ali (Housing), Liaqat Ali Khan (Population Welfare), and Suhail Khan Afridi (Communication and Works) will also serve as members, along with Adviser on Relief and Rehabilitation. Parliamentary Secretaries Shafiullah (Anti-Corruption) and Asif Khan (Administration) have likewise been inducted.
In addition, several MPAs have been included to ensure broad-based representation. They are Ahmad Karim Kundi, Usman Arbab, Latifur Rehman, Arbab Muhammad Waseem, Muhammad Nisar, Muhammad Israr, Anwar Zeb, Muhammad Riaz, Jalal Khan, Hameedur Rehman, Adnan Khan, Akbar Ayub, Ali Hadi, Abdul Ghani, Johar Khan, Taj Muhammad, Aurangzeb Khan, and Mian Shafqat Ali Khan.
