Sydney Sweeney has reportedly been approached with a $61 million offer to take the lead role in one of Bollywood’s most expensive productions, The Sun reports.
The deal is said to include an approximately $48 million fee and $13 million in sponsorship agreements, with producers aiming to use her star power to reach global audiences.
The film would cast Sweeney as a young American star who falls in love with an Indian celebrity, with production expected to begin in early 2026.
Filming is scheduled for multiple international locations, including New York, Paris, London, and Dubai.
This development comes at a transitional time in Sweeney’s career. While once regarded as one of Hollywood’s most promising stars, her presence at the 2025 Emmy Awards was noticeably understated.
Although she presented an award on stage, she was absent from backstage gatherings and afterparties, leading to speculation about her current position in the industry.
The actress has also faced controversies in recent years, including backlash over an American Eagle denim campaign and criticism of her Republican Party affiliation.
At the same time, her recent films have struggled at the box office.
Despite these challenges, Sweeney continues to take on ambitious projects, including her acclaimed transformation into boxing champion Christy Martin for the upcoming biopic Christy.
