TikTok icon Grandma Belle, 80, dies after battling dementia

Her ashes will be spread in the Blue Ridge Mountains, a place her family says she felt deeply connected to

The TikTok community is mourning the loss of Grandma Belle, the beloved 80-year-old star of the “Jock and Belle Show,” who passed away on September 12 following a battle with dementia.

Belle and her husband Jock, married for 62 years, became internet sensations thanks to their heartwarming and humorous videos, which earned them over 2 million followers. Their rise to TikTok fame began when their granddaughter, Christina, started capturing their daily moments — from playful banter to trying out viral trends — instantly endearing them to fans around the world.

Christina confirmed Belle’s passing in an emotional TikTok video, saying, “She passed earlier this morning and I honestly can’t even believe we’re here making this video.” Though she described the loss as “enormous,” Christina also expressed some relief that Belle was no longer suffering. “She really had no quality of life, even though she was my life,” she said. “I’m glad that she’s in a better place where she deserves.”

Belle’s health had declined rapidly in recent months. In August, Christina shared that Belle could no longer walk and had entered hospice care. By early September, Belle had stopped eating.

News of her passing sparked a wave of love and condolences from fans and fellow creators. One follower wrote, “Your compassion and care for your grandparents is something truly special. Thank you for sharing Gram with us.” TikToker Joe Allington added, “Heaven has gained another angel. Sending love to you and Jock.”

In her memory, the family announced a tree will be planted in North Carolina as a “living tribute” to Belle’s love of nature. Her ashes will be spread in the Blue Ridge Mountains, a place her family says she felt deeply connected to.
