Nicole Kidman’s living arrangements have come under scrutiny after reports that she has been paying £65,000 a month to reside in a Hampstead mansion while filming the Practical Magic sequel in London.
The 58-year-old actress has been living in the property, formerly owned by singer Boy George, without her husband Keith Urban, who has been on the road across the United States and Canada for his High And Alive Tour, running until mid-October.
A source told Woman’s Day via the Daily Mail that Kidman has become “comfortable” in the London home despite long stretches apart from her husband.
“They do make an effort to speak every day when they’re apart, but it’s shocking how much time they’ve spent apart since Nicole’s mother died last September,” the source claimed.
The couple, who married in 2006 and share two daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, have traditionally limited time spent apart, though insiders note this routine appears to have shifted.
Alongside her London stay, Kidman also filed for Portuguese residency earlier this year, sparking further questions as Urban’s name was absent from the application. According to SIC Notícias, the actress was seen in Lisbon while reportedly seeking property in the CostaTerra Golf and Ocean Club development.
However, a source close to the couple told The New York Post that Urban’s absence was due to his tour schedule, as residency applicants must be physically present. The insider confirmed he plans to apply at a later date, and emphasised that the pair’s primary home remains in Nashville.
The Hampstead mansion, which boasts five bedrooms, a cinema, roof terrace and meditation room, also has a controversial history after the death of musician Michael Rudetsky in 1986. Despite this, Kidman is said to value its location and space while working in the UK.
