Amanda Seyfried is under scrutiny after a screenshot of an alleged Instagram comment she made about conservative political influencer Charlie Kirk went viral.

The image, which circulated widely on September 15, appeared to show Seyfried’s account, responding to a post that featured a picture of Kirk alongside one of his July tweets stating, “Zero people from Gaza should be allowed to come to America. Period.” Seyfried’s comment under the post allegedly read, “He was hateful.”

The screenshot does not identify the original account that uploaded the image of Kirk, leaving uncertainty over where it first appeared. The situation has sparked intense debate across social media, with some users accusing the actress of insensitivity in light of Kirk’s murder.

On the same day, Seyfried shared another message on her Instagram Story, which read, “You can’t invite violence to the dinner table and be shocked when it starts eating.” The remark appeared to reference ongoing discussions surrounding Kirk’s legacy and has further fuelled criticism.

In the comments under Seyfried’s pinned Instagram post, some users accused her of making inappropriate remarks. Others expressed frustration with her views, questioning her knowledge of Kirk’s work.

Seyfried is currently promoting her upcoming psychological thriller The Housemaid, co-starring Sydney Sweeney, which is scheduled for release on December 19.
