Pakistan, UAE deepen cooperation

Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have agreed to strengthen cooperation in advancing a cashless economy, following a high-level bilateral consultative meeting held on Monday.
The UAE delegation was led by Minister of State for Financial Affairs Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini, while Pakistan was represented by Minister of State for Finance Bilal Azhar Kayani.
According to an official statement, the UAE side gave a detailed briefing on digital payments and collections, sharing its experiences in developing a digital economy. The Pakistani team, in turn, outlined Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's vision for a cashless economy and reviewed progress made under this initiative so far.
Both sides agreed to maintain cooperation at the technical level on different aspects of the cashless economy. The meeting also discussed the prime minister's initiatives in promoting the digital economy and reviewed the status of overall cooperation between Pakistan and the UAE in the field of modern governance.
Kayani expressed gratitude to the UAE leadership and government for their continued support in knowledge and experience sharing, particularly in the field of the cashless economy and related sectors.
