Potholes plague Ghori Town

Residents of Ghori Town are facing severe hardships due to the dilapidated condition of roads in their locality, which continue to deteriorate despite repeated appeals to the authorities.

The roads, riddled with potholes, cracks, and uneven surfaces, have made daily travel both hazardous and exhausting. Locals report frequent accidents and near-misses, particularly during the rainy season when the roads become slippery and visibility worsens.

The poor infrastructure has also hit the local economy, as traders and businesses struggle to transport goods and services efficiently. Residents complain of damage to vehicles, traffic congestion, and long commuting delays caused by the neglected road network.

Muhammad Pervaiz, a local resident, expressed his frustration, saying: "We need better roads to ensure our safety and support economic growth. It is disheartening to see our pleas ignored while we are forced to navigate treacherous roads every day."

Another commuter, Wasi Ahmed, said the situation was worsening, with accidents and financial losses becoming commonplace. "The lack of repair work has caused severe traffic jams, and on some days my commute is delayed by as much as two hours," he added.

Residents have repeatedly urged the authorities to take swift action, stressing that the condition of the roads is not only an inconvenience but also a serious safety concern. They emphasise that immediate maintenance and repair must be prioritised to improve traffic flow, reduce risks, and support economic activity in the area.
