Jeremy Allen White, star of the hit FX series The Bear, was notably absent from the 2025 Emmy Awards ceremony held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday night. According to Variety, the actor skipped the event to attend his best friend’s wedding, leaving his rumored girlfriend and on-screen love interest, Molly Gordon, to walk the red carpet alone.

White was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for his portrayal of Carmy, a talented yet troubled chef. The 34-year-old actor has previously won the category for two consecutive years, earning critical acclaim for his performance. This year, he competed against Adam Brody (Nobody Wants This), Seth Rogen (The Studio), Jason Segel (Shrinking), and Martin Short (Only Murders in the Building), with Rogen ultimately taking home the award.

During his emotional acceptance speech last year, White expressed gratitude to his The Bear co-stars Ayo Edebiri and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, saying the show “changed my life” and gave him hope that “change is possible.” He reiterated his appreciation during the 75th Emmy Awards in January 2024, thanking those who supported him through difficult personal times, including his divorce from former wife Addison Timlin. The couple shares two daughters, Ezer and Dolores.

This was not the first major awards show White missed in 2025. He was also absent from the Golden Globes in January due to filming commitments on the Bruce Springsteen biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere. Despite his absence, White remains a prominent figure in the awards circuit.

The Bear has earned 21 Emmy wins overall and received 13 nominations this year, including Outstanding Comedy Series. Other cast members nominated include Ayo Edebiri, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Liza Colón-Zayas, Jon Bernthal, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Olivia Colman.
