Entire Alipur submerged, says senior minister

LAHORE:

Provincial Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb and Specialised Healthcare Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique visited flood-affected areas of Saitpur on boats and reached Alipur at night.

They met flood victims in relief camps and delivered tents to remote areas.

The minister said that food, dry ration and other relief goods were also reaching flood victims of the area.

The senior minister assured the affected people that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz would compensate their losses.

She noted that the entire area of Alipur had been submerged and there had been a lot of damage.

She said estimation of the damage caused by the flood had been started.

The chief minister has directed the district administrations to determine the damage borne by each flood-affected person.

The senior minister, Khawaja Salman Rafique, Sohaib Bharat and other ministers also left to visit the Kandai Dam where more than 2,000 people had been affected by flood torrents.

They visited the flood-affected areas of Khairpur Sadat, Kotla Ghulam Shah, Mason Kot, Kotla Bakhsh and Sarki, along with a relief camp set up in Alipur.

They also reviewed the provision of food, ration, tents and medical facilities besides other relief material.
