KARACHI:

Unknown suspects broke into the bungalow of former National Assembly member Aftab Ahmed Siddiqui in Phase VI, Khayaban-e-Shahbaz, DHA, and escaped with a large sum of cash, foreign currency, gold biscuits, and a licensed weapon. The Darakhshan police have registered a case and launched an investigation.

According to the FIR, complainant Shah Nawaz — a private guard employed by Aftab Siddiqui — told police that he had fallen asleep inside the house on September 11. The next morning, Siddiqui called him into the house and pointed out that the lock on a cupboard inside his bathroom was broken, and its contents were scattered.

Upon checking, Siddiqui reported that a licensed 9mm pistol with 50 bullets, Rs 100,000 in cash, 15,000 Saudi riyals, three gold biscuits weighing a total of 350 grams, and a briefcase were missing. Darakhshan police registered FIR No. 709/2025 under Sections 380 and 457 of the Pakistan Penal Code. The case has been handed over to the investigation wing, which is currently reviewing CCTV footage and conducting further inquiries.
