Ministers review Panjnad flood situation

Provincial Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique and Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat visited Panjnad on Saturday and were briefed about the flood situation in adjoining areas.

The ministers monitored the relief operations for flood-affected people in Alipur. They were also apprised of the rescue activities under way for the affected people.

Later, they left for Lati Mari and Saitpur on the directions of the chief minister.

The senior minister arrived in Lati Mari and Saitpur late at night on an emergency visit and noted that several villages had been affected by severe flooding.

The local administration was busy in relief activities for the affected people and an evacuation operation was under way.

Rafts were also being used for evacuating residents from remote areas of Alipur.

The senior minister also monitored the provision of food and ration to the flood victims.

She said she would go to Saitpur with tents and other equipment for the rescued people.
