Louis Partridge is stepping into one of his biggest roles yet with Netflix’s new historical drama House of Guinness.
The Steven Knight–created series, described as a mix of Peaky Blinders and Succession, features Partridge as Edward Guinness, the brewing magnate navigating 19th-century power struggles. For the 22-year-old actor, the role marks a shift from the more carefree characters that made him a breakout star.
“Edward is quite a straight, sober character, trying to keep everything in check,” Partridge explained, contrasting it with his earlier roles.
Partridge is also taking on George Wickham in Netflix’s upcoming Pride and Prejudice adaptation. While the infamous character is usually portrayed as a deceiver, Partridge hinted he aims to bring more depth, saying Wickham “possibly means all the lovely things he says to girls before he leaves them.”
The British actor’s career has been rapidly expanding since his breakout in Netflix’s Enola Holmes alongside Millie Bobby Brown. He recently wrapped Enola Holmes 3 and has appeared in Noah Baumbach’s Jay Kelly and Alfonso Cuarón’s Disclaimer.
Beyond his acting, Partridge remains in the spotlight thanks to his relationship with Grammy-winning singer Olivia Rodrigo. The actor has embraced being linked to the pop star, even joking about being called “Mr. Olivia Rodrigo.” Rodrigo gave him a shout-out during her Glastonbury headlining set this summer, calling him her “boy from London,” a moment Partridge described as both surreal and joyful.
With House of Guinness preparing to launch and his name circulating in discussions for the next James Bond, Partridge continues to balance his rising career with the attention surrounding his high-profile relationship.
