Robbery attempt leaves two injured

KARACHI:

During an attempted robbery of citizens in a double-cabin vehicle in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, one robber was left injured when the citizens opened fire. The bandits opened fire in return, injuring a passerby.

Reportedly, two motorcycle-borne robbers followed the vehicle and attempted to rob its occupants at gunpoint. However, citizens inside the vehicle opened fire on the robbers, resulting in the bandits firing back.

In the ensuing exchange of fire, one robber and a passerby were injured, while the injured bandit's accomplice managed to flee. Citizens at the scene then caught the injured robber and subjected him to a beating.

Police reached the scene and shifted the injured individuals to Jinnah Hospital. SHO Sharae Faisal reported that the injured robber was identified as Ismail, and the injured passerby as Bhagwan Das.

Citizens in the vehicle left the scene and are being traced, while raids are being conducted to arrest the absconding robber.
