Two child molesters jailed for life

Additional District and Sessions Judge Afshan Ijaz Sufi, while pronouncing the verdict in two separate cases of rape of two children, sentenced both the culprits to life imprisonment, a fine of Rs10 million and a compensation of Rs10 million.

The accused, Wajib Hussain, son of Sadiq Hussain, who forcibly raped a 14-year-old disabled child was sentenced to life imprisonment, a fine of Rs500,000 and a compensation of Rs500,000 upon conviction.

The family of the victim will have to be paid the compensation of Rs500,000. In case of failure to pay the compensation, the Revenue Operations Department will be obliged to recover this amount from the movable and immovable property of the accused through legal action. In case of failure to pay the fine of Rs500,000, the accused will have to serve another 6 months in prison.

The accused Wajib had forcibly raped Qaiser Mahmood, a disabled child who was playing outside his house in the Darnoian area of Kotli Satian police station.

The case was registered by Kotli Satian police on June 20, 2024. The accused was arrested after registering a case. The medical board and forensic lab tests confirmed the rape.

In a separate case, Rashid Aziz alias Raja, kidnapped and raped a minor, Hassan Ali, in Sadiqabad police station.

He was also sentenced to life imprisonment, a fine of Rs500,000 and a compensation of Rs500,000.

The police had registered this case on April 11, 2024.
