
Venezuelan actor Eduardo Serrano, best known for his roles in numerous telenovelas including El cuerpo del deseo and La venganza, has died at the age of 82.
His daughter, actress Magaly Serrano, confirmed the news through an emotional post on social media.
In her Instagram tribute, Magaly described her father as a “legend” and praised his career and role as a devoted parent. She shared photos and videos of Serrano, calling him “the best father that could exist” and expressing gratitude for his 82 years of life.
Serrano built a legacy in Latin American television, appearing in more than 30 telenovelas. His work included major titles such as Las Amazonas, La Heredera, Juana la virgen, Dame chocolate, El rostro de la venganza, La Mujer Perfecta, and La Zulianita. Admired for his versatility and charisma, he became one of Venezuela’s most recognizable screen figures.
Reports revealed that Serrano had been diagnosed with lung cancer that had metastasized to the brain, as well as bladder cancer. His daughter Magaly left her job to care for him and had publicly sought financial help to cover his treatment expenses. Despite his fight, Serrano passed away in Miami, where he had lived in recent years.
In 2020, Serrano overcame prostate cancer and released a book, Historias en blanco y negro, reflecting on his life experiences. Following his retirement from acting, he dedicated himself to writing and spending time with his family.
Eduardo Serrano’s passing marks the end of an era for Venezuelan television, where he remains remembered as one of its most iconic leading men.
