'PTA doesn't manage subscriber data'

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) on Tuesday took notice of media reports on alleged availability of subscriber data online. In a statement, the PTA clarified that it does not hold or manage subscriber data, which remains solely with licensed operators.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Sunday took notice of the issue after Express News brought into the spotlight for the second time that private data of citizens including government ministers and key officials was up for sale at illegal websites.

According to the report, mobile phone location was available at these platforms.
