To mark Defence Day, the Lt Col Muhammad Akram Raja Shaheed Sports Festival 2025 was organised by the Sindh Sports Department.
Over 300 men, women, boys and girls participated in more than five events, including mass wrestling, judo, weightlifting, chess, and wrestling held under the supervision of District Sports Officer Maryam Kerio.
Despite rain, athletes competed with enthusiasm, showcasing thrilling performances.
The event was inaugurated by chief guest Rain Memes Sports Foundation President Sikandar Nawaz, and guest of honour Begum Mohsin Memon. Medals, certificates, and awards were distributed among winners.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Maryam Kerio said the spirit of Defence Day lives throughout the year.
She paid tribute to Pakistan's martyrs and veterans, highlighting the nation's resilience and sacrifices in the 17-year-long unconventional war against terrorism.
She praised the armed forces for their courage, skill, and contributions to national progress, democracy, and global peace.
