Breaking Bad actor Raymond Cruz arrested after alleged hose incident with neighbor
Raymond Cruz, best known for his role as Tuco Salamanca on AMC’s Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, was arrested in Los Angeles on Monday after allegedly spraying a neighbor’s daughter with a garden hose.
According to law enforcement sources, police were called to Cruz’s home in the Silver Lake neighborhood after the alleged altercation. The incident reportedly began while Cruz was washing his car and asked the girl to move after she parked close to his vehicle. The neighbor’s daughter claims Cruz intentionally sprayed her as she stood nearby, while sources close to the actor suggest she was accidentally caught in the spray.
Cruz, 63, was taken into custody on suspicion of misdemeanor battery and processed at a local station. As of now, no formal charges have been filed. The case will be reviewed by the Los Angeles City Attorney’s office, which often handles minor infractions by issuing warnings or referring defendants to programs such as anger management courses instead of pursuing full prosecution.
Cruz has not issued a public statement, and his representatives declined to comment on the arrest.
The actor gained widespread recognition for portraying volatile drug lord Tuco Salamanca in Breaking Bad, a role he reprised in Better Call Saul. He has also appeared in long-running television series including The Closer and Major Crimes, as well as various film roles.
The Los Angeles City Attorney is expected to decide in the coming weeks whether Cruz will face charges or be offered an alternative resolution.
