Perfect Girl: Jeon Somi joins Arden Cho and Adeline Rudolph for K-pop slasher horror film
International K-pop star Jeon Somi is set to make her acting debut in the upcoming horror-thriller Perfect Girl, joining Arden Cho and Adeline Rudolph in a project that blends music and suspense.
Written by Lynn Q. Yu, the film follows a fictional K-pop super group preparing for their debut. With only four spots available and the final cut just a week away, tensions rise. When a mysterious new girl joins at the last minute, the situation spirals as competitors are hunted and attacked one by one. The story promises a mix of psychological tension and horror, described as “Scream meets Black Swan.”
The film will be directed by Hong Won-ki, founder of leading Korean production company Zanybros, and produced by Badlands, Thunder Road, and Cho. Production is scheduled to begin on October 27.
It will also feature six original tracks, merging the worlds of K-pop and cinema, though it has not been confirmed if Jeon Somi or Arden Cho will contribute to the soundtrack.
Jeon Somi, a Canadian-Dutch-Korean artist, rose to fame after winning Produce 101 before debuting with I.O.I and ultimately going solo.
Meanwhile, Arden Cho from Teen Wolf and Partner Track, is currently busy promoting the record-breaking animated Netflix movie, KPop Demon Hunters in which she stars as a voice actor for Rumi.
