KARACHI:

Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Ameer Monem Zafar has condemned the continued non-payment of salaries to doctors at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, terming it a glaring failure of the city's healthcare system. He warned that if dues are not cleared within two weeks, the party will expand its protest movement to other government hospitals across the metropolis.

During a visit to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, Zafar met with affected doctors, including house officers and postgraduate trainees, who have not received their salaries and stipends for several months. He expressed solidarity with the protesting medical staff, criticising the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) for failing to disburse payments despite repeated appeals.
