Additional Sessions Judge and Special Judge of the Anti-Rape Court, Amjad Ali Bajwa, on Tuesday sentenced a rape convict to life imprisonment along with a fine of Rs100,000. According to the prosecution, Danish Ali of Hassan Pura lured a woman from Kehkshan Colony under the pretext of replacing her mobile phone and committed rape on August 8, 2024.

Following the incident, Mansoorabad police registered a case and submitted a challan to court. After examining evidence and hearing witness statements, the judge convicted Danish Ali.

The court further directed that in case of non-payment of the fine, the convict would undergo an additional three months of imprisonment.

The ruling is part of ongoing efforts to ensure accountability and deterrence in cases of sexual violence.
