Prosecutors request Instagram ban for Kelley Wolf following arrest

Kelley Wolf faces Instagram ban after arrest for alleged harassment of ex Scott Wolf.

Utah prosecutors have requested that reality TV personality Kelley Wolf be barred from using Instagram following her arrest for allegedly posting her ex-husband Scott Wolf’s personal phone number on the platform. As per a report by Us Weekly, the request came as part of a court filing seeking additional restrictions on Wolf’s bond conditions.

Wolf, a former star of The Real World, was arrested on Tuesday, August 26, and charged with electronic disclosure of personal identifying information and electronic communication harassment. She was released from the Summit County Jail on Thursday, August 28, after posting a $5,000 bond, according to People.

Court documents obtained by Us Weekly revealed that prosecutors want Wolf prohibited from using social media pending further court orders. While the judge has not yet ruled on the proposed social media ban, the court has issued several other conditions. These include abstaining from alcohol and non-prescribed drugs, participating in medical or psychological treatment, and avoiding contact with Scott Wolf and any potential witnesses in the case.

The incident that led to Kelley Wolf’s arrest began when Scott Wolf contacted police after receiving a silent phone call from his ex-wife. Shortly afterward, he began receiving numerous calls and texts from unknown numbers. A police report stated Scott received 24 calls and multiple messages within just ten minutes. Authorities later discovered that Kelley had shared his phone number in an Instagram Story, accompanied by the message: “Let’s let dimples field his own press? Right?”

Scott, known for his role on Party of Five, told officers the number was tied to his personal phone, which he uses to communicate with the couple’s three children. The disruption prompted immediate concern, and a responding officer attempted to speak with Kelley at her home. According to the affidavit, she refused to come outside and responded with counteraccusations through a window. She was then taken into custody.

Family members also expressed concern over Kelley’s mental health, leading officers to recommend she remain in custody until evaluated by a professional. An emergency hearing in the couple’s ongoing divorce proceedings has been scheduled.
