Gracie Mansion hosts first-ever Pakistan Heritage Day

New York Mayor Eric Adams, other senior officials attended the event

Pakistan Heritage Day was observed for the first time at the  Gracie Mansion, the official residence of New York City Mayor. Besides Mayor Eric Adams, senior city and state officials, diplomats, political leaders, and a large number of Pakistani-American community members attended the ceremony.

Pakistan’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, and Consul General of Pakistan in New York Aamer Ahmed Atozai represented the country. A moment of silence was observed for the victims of recent floods in Pakistan.

Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Ahmad congratulated the community on Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day and lauded their role in strengthening Pakistan-US relations.
