Sabrina Carpenter has released her new album Man’s Best Friend, accompanied by a video for the track Tears featuring Colman Domingo.
The visual, released alongside the record, places Carpenter in a surreal setting, arriving at a remote house that transforms into a theatrical space filled with eccentric characters. Domingo appears in drag, contributing to the performance’s dramatic style.
In the single Tears, Carpenter delivers lines with sharp humour, singing, “A little initiative can go a very long, long way. Baby, just do the dishes, I’ll give you what you want.” The track follows the earlier release of Manchild, which became her first United States No. 1 debut single.
Man’s Best Friend marks Carpenter’s seventh album and consists of 12 tracks, 10 of which are labelled explicit. Addressing the record’s bold themes, Carpenter told Gayle King, “The album is not for any pearl clutchers. But I also think that even pearl clutchers can listen to an album like that in their own solitude and find something that makes them smirk and chuckle to themselves.”
Carpenter’s previous album Short n’ Sweet earned her a Grammy and produced chart-topping singles, including Please Please Please. Following its supporting tour, she is preparing to return to live performances.
Beginning in October, Carpenter is scheduled to appear at the Austin City Limits Music Festival before heading to South America, where she will perform at Lollapalooza festivals in Chile, Argentina and Brazil in 2026.
With Man’s Best Friend, Carpenter continues her run of high-profile releases while expanding her live show commitments to international stages.
