The All Pakistan Muttahida Students Organization (APMSO) has strongly condemned the Sindh Anti-Corruption Establishment's late-night action against students, calling it a "student-hostile policy" and a "malicious conspiracy" against the youth of the nation.
According to APMSO, students who appeared in the 2022 Karachi Intermediate Board examinations were issued notices to appear at the ACE West office at 12:30am, sparking panic among students and their families. The organisation termed the move as unjustified and alarming, especially given that the investigation into alleged result tampering has already been ongoing for over 18 months.
Parents voiced concerns, saying they were unwilling to send their daughters to government offices at such inappropriate hours. They described the action as a violation of basic human rights, societal values, and the principles of justice.
"Why was there a sudden need to harass students in the middle of the night when the investigation has been going on for so long?" APMSO questioned, casting doubt on the transparency and intent behind the operation.
Calling the incident part of an "anti-education agenda" aimed at derailing the future of Pakistan's youth, APMSO's central committee demanded that the 'harassment' of students be stopped immediately.
