Stardew Valley among three free games coming to PlayStation Plus next week

All three titles will be available to claim start Monday, September 2

Sony has announced the next batch of free games for PlayStation Plus subscribers, and it’s a strong lineup. Starting September 2, players across all PS Plus tiers—Essential, Extra, and Premium—can claim and download three new titles for PS4 and PS5.

Here’s what’s coming:

  • Stardew Valley (PS4)

  • Psychonauts 2 (PS4)

  • Viewfinder (PS4, PS5)

The biggest surprise might be Stardew Valley, the hugely popular indie farming sim, which has somehow never been included in a PS Plus lineup until now. If you’ve missed it before, this is the perfect chance to dive into its charming pixel world full of farming, mining, fishing, and light RPG elements.

Also included is Psychonauts 2, Double Fine’s quirky and heartfelt 3D platformer. Released in 2021 to critical acclaim, it blends creative level design with humor and surprisingly deep storytelling. If you enjoy games with personality and strong writing, it’s a must-play.

Rounding out the trio is Viewfinder, a first-person puzzle game with a unique mechanic that lets you step into photos to reshape your environment. It’s a clever, mind-bending experience that fans of Portal or The Witness will likely enjoy.

All three titles will be available to claim start Monday, September 2, and can be played on both PS4 and PS5 (except for Viewfinder, which includes a native PS5 version).

If you haven’t yet grabbed August’s free games—Lies of P, DayZ, and My Hero One’s Justice 2—make sure to do so before they leave the service on September 1. Just add them to your library to keep them as long as your PS Plus membership stays active.
