Rachell “Valkyrae” Hofstetter has opened up about her latest ventures in streaming and media, alongside reflections on the challenges she faces as one of the most recognisable names in online entertainment.
In 2024, Valkyrae launched her own media company, Hihi, which has already produced projects including the webcomic Bad Influence and fantasy manga Apollyon. She confirmed that the company plans to expand into both short and long-form animated content, with television shows also in development.
Alongside her company, Valkyrae joined QTCinderella’s podcast Wine About It after the conclusion of her own show Press Esc.
She explained that scheduling difficulties with her former co-host Alythuh made continuing the podcast difficult, leading to the collaboration with QTCinderella at what she described as “the perfect timing.”
Valkyrae also made a guest appearance in State Farm’s competition series Gamerhood, which she described as a “win-win” experience combining charity fundraising with gaming alongside friends.
Her appearance on Gamerhood coincided with her transition into multi-streaming across YouTube and Twitch after her contract with YouTube ended earlier this year.
She admitted the adjustment was “very difficult,” noting that her audience was divided across platforms but ultimately expanded her reach. “At the end of the day, I was like, ‘Sure, my audience will be split, but I’m reaching more people overall by multi-streaming,’” she said.
Speaking about her long career in streaming, Valkyrae also addressed criticism and online negativity. She advised aspiring streamers to focus on their own goals rather than hostile comments, saying: “Honestly, you have to ignore that vocal minority. Just do what makes you happy, because this is your one life you’re gonna live.”
